Documents You Need for an Intercity Home or Vehicle Move

• Consignment note (LR / bilty) — the truck's legal record for your goods. You get a copy at loading; keep it until delivery.
• Inventory list — every carton numbered and signed at both ends. This is your proof of what was sent and received.
• Insurance certificate — issued on the declared value before the truck rolls. Check that high-value items are listed by name.
• GST invoice — for your records, and useful if an employer is reimbursing the move.
• Your ID proof — a copy of Aadhaar or similar, sometimes asked for at destination societies.

For car or bike transport

• Copy of the Registration Certificate (RC).
• Copy of the vehicle insurance.
• A condition report with photos, signed at pickup and delivery — your protection against any dispute.
