Storage & Warehousing

Old flat handed over on the 30th, new flat ready on the 15th. That fifteen-day gap is exactly what our storage exists for.

Almost every storage booking starts with a timing problem: possession delayed, a transfer with company accommodation pending, a renovation running over, or a family heading abroad for a year. Instead of begging relatives for garage space, your packed household waits — properly — in a facility built for the job.

What "properly stored" actually means

  • Racked, not piled — cartons on racks, furniture on pallets off the floor, nothing crushed under a mountain of boxes
  • Family-wise lots — your household sits together in one marked lot, not scattered through a shed
  • Pest control and dry flooring — the two silent killers of stored furniture are termites and damp; both are actively managed
  • Covered and locked — access is logged; your lot opens only for you or on your written instruction
  • Inventory in and out — the same numbered list from packing day is checked at entry and at exit

How billing works

Storage is billed monthly, sized by the volume your household occupies — a 1 BHK lot costs less than a 3 BHK lot, obviously. The move-in and move-out transport legs are quoted as normal moves. No lock-in: stayed nineteen days into the month? Many customers extend, some shorten; we bill what is fair and agreed in writing before your goods enter. Insurance can be extended over the storage period for long stays — worth it for furniture-heavy homes.

The seamless version: move + store + deliver

The neatest way to use storage is inside a single booking: we pack your old home, hold everything for the gap period, then deliver and set up the new home when you get the keys. One inventory list travels through all three stages, one supervisor answers for all of it. Families relocating between cities — often to fast-growing hubs like Delhi or Noida — use this constantly when possession dates slip; the truck leaves on schedule, and the household simply waits at our end instead of yours. Details of the moving legs are on the house shifting and domestic shifting pages.

Storage pricing, plainly

You pay for the volume your lot occupies, monthly, at a listed rate — plus the two transport legs (in and out) quoted as normal moves. That is the whole model. No admin fees, no "handling charges" at retrieval, no rate creep after month three. Insurance extension over the storage period is optional and priced per declared value. Long-stayers (six months plus) earn a listed discount without asking. The bill reads: volume × months × rate. Your accountant will be almost disappointed by how little there is to audit.

What stores well — and what we refuse

Happily stored: furniture (wrapped), appliances (dry and defrosted), cartons of household life, books (in our driest racks), vehicles-on-request, office files and exhibition material. Politely refused: perishables (the dal will not survive the sabbatical), plants (they deserve better than a warehouse), inflammables and cylinders (safety law and common sense agree), pets (obviously — see pet relocation instead), and cash or jewellery (which belong in lockers, not lots). When in doubt, ask — the honest answer at booking beats the awkward one at the gate.

Storage & Warehousing — Common Questions

What is the minimum storage period?

There is no rigid minimum — we regularly hold households for a week between possession dates. Billing is monthly with fair pro-rating for short stays, agreed in writing before your goods enter the facility.

Can I visit or take out one item during storage?

Yes, with a day's notice. Your household is stored as one marked lot with a numbered inventory, so retrieving "box 23 — winter clothes" is a lookup, not an excavation. Access is logged, and only you or someone you authorise in writing can touch the lot.

Is stored furniture safe from termites and damp?

Both risks are actively managed: scheduled pest control, raised pallets, dry ventilated flooring and no contact with outside walls. Wooden furniture also travels in wrapped condition, which adds its own barrier. These two risks are exactly why garage storage at a relative's place goes wrong.

Do you store commercial stock or office equipment too?

Yes — office furniture between lease dates, exhibition material between events, and overflow stock for shops. The discipline is the same: racked lots, inventory in and out, monthly billing. For office moves with a gap, storage slots directly into the office shifting plan.

What happens if I need delivery earlier or later than planned?

Just call the supervisor. Earlier delivery needs a couple of days' notice to schedule the truck; extension needs one line on WhatsApp. Dates in a storage plan are expected to move — the point of the service is absorbing your uncertainty, not penalising it.
