Your dog does not know the family is moving. Our job is to make sure the journey is the least stressful part of his week.
Pets are not luggage, and moving them is nothing like moving furniture — it is scheduling, paperwork, temperature, and above all, a living creature's comfort. We relocate dogs, cats, birds and small pets between cities across India, by road or air depending on the animal, the distance and the season.
The preparation matters more than the journey
A good pet move starts two weeks before travel day:
- Crate familiarisation — the travel crate reaches your home early so your pet eats and naps in it before it ever moves. A known crate is a den; an unknown crate is a cage.
- Vet check and certificates — fitness-to-travel certificate and up-to-date vaccination records; we tell you exactly what your route needs.
- Right-size IATA-standard crate — stand, turn, lie down comfortably; ventilation on all sides; absorbent bedding; water bowl clipped inside.
- Feeding plan — light meal a few hours before travel, never a full stomach at departure; water throughout.
Road or air — how we choose
By road, in climate-controlled vehicles with scheduled water and walk breaks, works beautifully for short and medium routes — say Delhi to Jaipur, or within a single metro region. An attendant travels with the animal, and you get photo updates at every halt.
By air makes sense for long routes like Delhi to Bangalore: hours instead of days. We book the pet-appropriate cargo or excess-baggage option, handle airline paperwork, and time travel to avoid peak afternoon heat — airlines themselves embargo pet travel in extreme temperatures, and we plan around those windows. Snub-nosed breeds (pugs, bulldogs, Persian cats) get special routing because their breathing needs extra care; sometimes road is simply the kinder answer, and we will say so.
Moving the family too?
Most pet relocations ride alongside a full house shift. We sequence it so the pet travels when a family member can receive them — never sitting in a new empty flat alone while the truck is still on the highway. What pet relocation costs
Pet moves price on species and size (crate class), route and mode (attended road versus air cargo), and the service depth you choose — crate purchase or rental, vet-coordination, door-to-door attendance. Each appears as its own line. Air routes add the airline's published pet tariff, passed through at cost with the receipt attached — we do not mark up your dog's boarding pass. What the quote never hides: the crate is IATA-spec or it is not (ours are), the vehicle is climate-controlled or it is not (ours are), and someone rides along or nobody does (with us, someone always does on road moves).
The owner's prep list — two weeks out
- Crate lives in the living room from today; treats appear inside it daily
- Vet visit booked: fitness certificate, vaccination record, microchip check
- Familiar-smell kit set aside: the old blanket, one unwashed t-shirt of yours, the chewed toy that has seen things
- Feeding plan agreed: light meal 3–4 hours before travel, water throughout
- Your phone charged on travel day — our photo updates deserve a working recipient

Pet Relocation — Common Questions
Can my dog travel in the moving truck with our household goods?
No — and be wary of anyone who says yes. A goods truck has no climate control, no attendant and no safe space for an animal. Pets travel separately: in an attended vehicle by road, or by air in an IATA-standard crate. It costs a little more and is the only humane way.
What documents does my pet need to travel between cities?
A fitness-to-travel certificate from a vet (usually within 7 days of travel) and vaccination records, with rabies mandatory. Air travel adds airline-specific forms, which we prepare. Route-specific requirements exist in a few states — we confirm the exact list for your route at booking.
My cat panics in cars. How do you handle anxious animals?
Slowly and honestly. The crate goes home early for familiarisation, travel is scheduled for cooler, quieter hours, and covering the crate partially reduces visual stress for cats. We do not sedate animals for travel — vets advise against it for safety — but your vet may suggest mild calming aids, and we plan around their advice.
Will someone stay with my pet during a road relocation?
Yes. Road moves are attended — the animal is never alone in a parked vehicle, water breaks happen on schedule, and dogs get walk stops. You receive photo updates at each halt, which, our customers tell us, is the part that finally lets them relax.
Can you relocate birds, rabbits or fish?
Birds and small mammals, yes — in ventilated, secure carriers suited to the species, by road wherever possible since airlines restrict many of them. Aquariums are a special case: fish travel short distances in oxygenated bags, and the tank itself moves as fragile freight. Tell us the species and route and we will give you a straight answer on what is safely possible.
