A home is not "goods". It is your child's study table, your mother's crockery, the mattress you finally got right. We move it the way you would — carefully, and in order.
Our house shifting crews work across 40+ cities — flats in high-rise societies, older buildings with narrow staircases, row houses, the occasional bungalow. After 10+ years of it, there isn't much an Indian apartment block can throw at us that we haven't already carried down four floors without a lift.
What a full house shift includes
- Pre-move survey — in person or on a video call — and a fixed written quote
- All packing material: 3-ply and 5-ply cartons, bubble wrap, foam, stretch film
- Dismantling of beds, wardrobes and dining tables; reassembly at the new home
- Careful handling of appliances — fridge defrosted, washing machine drum locked, AC uninstalled if needed
- Transport in a dedicated closed truck with transit insurance
- Room-wise labelled boxes, placed in the right rooms and unpacked on request
How we pack a home, room by room
The kitchen takes the longest, so we start there — crockery in partitioned cartons, each plate wrapped separately, masala dabbas sealed so nothing spills into anything else. Clothes go into carry cartons on their hangers. Books get small boxes (a big box of books is how backs get hurt and boxes get dropped). The TV travels in foam and a fitted carton, standing up, never flat. Beds are dismantled last, because the family still has to sleep somewhere the night before.
On moving day, one supervisor stays with you from the first box to the last. Every carton gets a number and a room label, and you get the list — so at the new house you can say "box 14 goes to the kids' room" without opening it.
What decides the price
Volume, distance, floors and packing level. A 1 BHK moving within Pune costs a fraction of a 3 BHK heading to Delhi. Ground floor to ground floor is cheaper than a seventh-floor walk-up. A realistic cost picture
Every house-shifting quote we issue is built from five visible lines: packing material (counted, not "included"), packing labour, transport (vehicle sized to your volume and lane), loading/unloading crew, and transit insurance on your declared value. Optional lines — appliance uninstall/reinstall, full unpacking, storage days — appear only if you choose them. What never appears: fuel surcharges invented at the gate, "floor charges" discovered on moving day, or the classic revised-bill-because-monsoon. A 1 BHK local shift is a lean four-line bill; a 3 BHK intercity move uses all the lines and still totals what the signed quote said. If any competing quote is one round number on a WhatsApp message, ask them to break it into these five lines — the silence is educational.
Your part of a great move — a short checklist
- One week before: declutter ruthlessly; every kilo you donate is a rupee you do not pay to move
- Three days before: society formalities (we send the letter formats), fridge defrost plan, valuables pouch set aside
- One day before: phone chargers, medicines, two days of clothes and the kettle into the OPEN-FIRST box
- Moving day: keep the supervisor's number on speed dial, the house keys in your pocket, and the chai suggestions coming — our crews run on it

House Shifting — Common Questions
Do I need to empty my wardrobe and drawers before the crew arrives?
Keep valuables — jewellery, documents, cash — with you; we do not move those. Everything else can stay where it is. The crew empties wardrobes into carry cartons and drawers into labelled boxes, which is faster and safer than living out of suitcases for a week.
Can you shift a home with an AC, geyser and modular fittings?
Yes. We arrange uninstallation of ACs and geysers before packing and reinstallation at the new home if you want it. Modular fittings that are built into the wall generally stay, but tell us during the survey and we will advise what can move sensibly.
How long does a house shift take?
A 1 BHK local move is usually done in a day — packing in the morning, delivery by evening. A 2–3 BHK may need a packing day and a moving day. Intercity moves add transit time, which we commit in writing: a metro-to-metro move like Delhi to Bangalore, for example, typically runs 3–5 days door to door.
What if my society only allows shifting on Sundays?
Very common in gated societies across Indian metros. We plan around society rules every week — Sunday slots, lift bookings, gate passes, security deposits. Tell us the rules during the survey and we will handle the paperwork with your society office.
Is unpacking included or extra?
Basic unpacking — boxes opened, contents placed on surfaces, material taken away — is included if you ask for it on delivery day. Full arrangement (clothes into wardrobes, kitchen set up) is a small add-on; mention it during the survey and we will include it in the written quote.
