Local moves are our daily bread. On any given morning our teams are shifting a 1 BHK across Pune, a PG room in Bangalore, and a family home from one Delhi suburb to the next. Short distance doesn't mean small job — the packing has to be just as careful when the truck travels 8 km as when it travels 800.
The one-day rhythm
The crew reaches at the slot you picked — usually 8 or 9 am, before society lifts get busy. Packing takes two to four hours for a typical 1–2 BHK. Loading, the drive, unloading, and beds reassembled — most customers are making tea in the new kitchen by evening. You travel with the truck if you like, or just track it on the phone; in city traffic the driver's route is your route.
Small moves, honestly priced
Not every move is a full household. We do a lot of these:
- Single-room and PG shifts — a bed, a cupboard, ten boxes, done in three hours
- Bachelor and student moves — hostel to flat, flat to flat, usually one Tata Ace load
- Few-items moves — just the fridge and washing machine to a new flat, or one sofa to a sibling's place
- Within-society shifts — B-wing to D-wing sounds easy till the mattress meets the staircase
For these we quote a simple flat rate on the phone after a few photos on WhatsApp — no survey visit needed for a ten-box move.
Cheap and careless is not the deal here
Local shifting is a crowded market, and someone will always quote a thousand rupees less. What that quote usually hides: loose loading without wrapping, a crew hired that morning, and a "final price" that grows at your doorstep. Our local moves use the same packing material and the same payroll crews as our intercity moves — the truck is just smaller and the day is shorter. If you are moving within Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore or any of our 40+ cities, we can usually slot you in within 48 hours.
Vehicles sized to the job, rates sized to the vehicle
Local moves waste money in one place: wrong truck size. Our dispatch matches the vehicle to your actual volume — Tata Ace for the PG room and few-items jobs, 14-footer for the typical 1–2 BHK, 19-footer only when a full household genuinely needs it. Each size carries its own flat local rate band, listed in the quote beside labour and material lines. The result: you never pay 19-foot money for an Ace-sized life, and never suffer two trips because someone quoted small to win the call.
The same-day rhythm, hour by hour
8 am: crew arrives, walkthrough, kitchen packing starts. 10 am: rooms sealed carton by carton, furniture wrapped. 12 pm: loading against the checklist. 1 pm: the drive (you follow or track by phone). 2 pm: unloading, room-wise placement. 4 pm: beds assembled, washing machine connected, empty material out. Evening: your own bed, your own kettle, zero cardboard in sight. That is the standard local-shift day we plan for — and the reason evening-slot bookings exist for the notice-period crowd who cannot spare a morning.

Local Shifting — Common Questions
What does a local house shift cost, roughly?
A fair range for a 1 BHK within the same city is a few thousand rupees, moving up with volume, distance and floors. Exact numbers depend on your building and luggage, which is why we quote after photos or a quick video call — the figure we give is the figure you pay.
Can you do the shift today or tomorrow?
Often, yes. Local crews are scheduled daily, and a small move can usually be fitted in within 24–48 hours. Month-end weekends are the crunch — if your society restricts moving to Sundays, book those dates a few days ahead.
Do I really need packing for an 8 km move?
The distance is short; the speed-breakers, brake-checks and staircase corners are not. A TV without foam or a mirror without corner protection breaks just as easily at 8 km as at 800. We wrap everything fragile as standard — it is why the truck arrives with the same contents it left with.
Will you move just two or three heavy items?
Yes — fridge, washing machine, sofa, almirah, piano. We send a small crew with proper straps and a compact vehicle, priced as a mini-move. It is a far better idea than talking two friends into lifting a double-door fridge down three floors.
Can the move happen on a weekday evening after office hours?
For small moves, yes — evening slots exist precisely for working folks. For a full 2 BHK we advise a morning start, because society freight lifts and watchmen cooperate better before the building wakes up fully.
